My New Love! Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip "Zuma"

I can't wait to show you the swatches. I have been waiting for my Colourpop order to arrive since last week and now they're here.

I'm going to make this review short and sweet. Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip is the bomb. It's formula is smooth, almost like butter. I fell in love with it almost instantly. The best way to get the most of this amazing lip product is to apply one even layer (make sure it's not too thin, not too thick). Once applied, smack your lips, rub them once then stop. Let it set and you're good as gold.

Here's a quick pic.

Product Review: Colourpop Lippie Stix Matte X "Hotline"

The first time I tried Colourpop Lippie Stix in the shade "Hotline", I didn't like it. Oh no, this is not the color for me, was what I said. I thought it was way too light. Then one week later, I tried Hotline again and this time I mixed it with a little of Colourpop Lippie Stix in the shade "Mosh Pit" to make it one shade darker and it looks amazing! I love it.

Here is what Hotline looks like on my lips:

This is what Hotline looks like on my sister's lips. Her skin is medium tone, a classic morena.

Product Review: Colourpop Lippie Stix Matte X "Daydream"

It is quite obvious, isn't it? How crazy I am about Colourpop Lippie Stix's Matte X formula? I have been talking about it non-stop in my previous posts you know that! Why wouldn't I be? Their Matte X formula is so darn good and long-wearing and so comfortable on the lips I sometimes forget I have lipstick on. So far, I have reviewed only three of them: Goal DiggerCami and Love Life but I have quite a few more to show to you that are worth checking out.

Like this one from the Persuede Me set. It's got such a pretty name, Daydream. I can't tell you enough just how smooth this goes on the lips. So creamy and velvety for 5 to 10 seconds and then it dries down matte. This shade lasted me 4-5 hours with very little fading. I love it. It's the lipstick I find myself reaching for the most when I am wearing earth tone colored tops like this one in the picture:

This lipstick shade comes from the "Persuede Me" set [6 different lipstick shades that comes in a box: Le Freak, Goldie, Ziggie, Daydream, Hotline, Upside Down] and are not sold individually [I will show you the box soon in a separate post]. Sad to say, they will not be making any more lipstick from this set as they're "removing them from the shelves" as soon as stocks have sold out. So if you have Daydream and all the other shades, good for you! I have all six but decided to give Upside Down away as it was way too light for me and would suit someone with really fair complexion.

Product Review: Colourpop Lippie Stix Matte X "Goal Digger"

The Colourpop Matte X shade that I have to say is my ultimate favorite of all time is...ta-dah!

GOAL DIGGER

I don't have anything like it. It's like a rose pink with red and hints of peach in it. Amazing color payoff, really opaque. Though it is not as bright and bold as Love Life, it is a head-turner. The exact opposite of Cami. While Cami looks like a color I'd be wearing on a rainy day, Goal Digger is all sunshine. When I am feeling out of sorts and need a little perk me up, this is my go-to lipstick. It is an instant mood booster [that's what it does for me] that's why I always have it in my bag.

It is the sort of color that brightens up the face. I don't even have to apply a lot of makeup just to look extra special. I just do my brows, do a little concealing and then apply a few swipes of this and I'd look all made up. When I wear this, there will always be some lady who'd come up to me just to ask what lipstick I am wearing. That's how good it looks. On me that is. Haha.

Like all Colourpop's Matte X formula, Goal Digger is a dream to apply and doesn't tug on the lips. it is so smooth it makes me want to just keep on applying non-stop but of course, I don't do that because one or two swipes is more than enough.

Here are some swatches of Goal Digger:

Product Review: Colourpop Lippie Stix Matte X "Cami"

Another Colourpop Matte X shade that went straight to my favorite list is Cami. I cannot quite describe this color to a tee. It is different in a sense that it changes color on my lips. I am not sure why it does but that is what I noticed with this lipstick. If you have Cami, can you message me and tell me if you noticed this same thing?

On my lips, just right after I apply Cami, it looked to me like a dusty mauve pink but I noticed that as time passes by, the color turns slightly darker. And I love that it does what it does. I carry two or three tubes of lipstick with me when I am out. When I go to the washroom to retouch my makeup, I'd put on a different lipstick color [I get all weird with lipstick like that]. But with Cami doing what it does, I won't have to. I'll let it do the color switching for me. Haha.

Here are swatches of Cami:

This is what Cami looks like on my sister. It looks quite pink when first applied.

And this is what Cami looks like on me (a couple of hours on my lips and already it looks slightly darker):

Such a pretty color just the same. And the best thing about it? It's in the same Matte X formula as Love Life which I reviewed yesterday. Creamy and smooth to apply, dries down fast, long lasting and really comfortable on the lips. Just make sure to exfoliate your lips first [with honey and sugar mixed together or olive oil and sugar mixed together] for best results.

Can't wait to tell you about the next one! Goal Digger. Oh yes. That's for tomorrow.

Product Review: My New Love – Colourpop Lippie Stix Matte X "Love Life"

Colourpop never fails to amaze me with their makeup genius. I first fell in love with their Colourpop Lippie Stix. The one I got was in the shade "Lumiere" and from then on, I'd buy one or two until I have over a dozen in my stash. Crazy, right? Who would have thought I'd end up buying these many lip products. It's not like I'll get to use them all. I have to keep in mind, these things do expire. It would definitely be a waste of money if I don't get to at least use half of these babies by year end. But enough of that. I AM A WOMAN and you know how women are. Especially when it comes to lipstick. You can never have too many lipstick. Right? Right. Even if some of the shades look exactly the same, it's fine, you just got to have them!

So without further ado, here is one of Colourpop's brightest, prettiest shades...Love Life! What I love most about this lipstick is its MATTE. Not just your ordinary matte but creamy, opaque matte that is lightweight and long lasting. That's how good it is.

Take a good look at that color:

And here's how it looks on me!

I love how creamy it applies on the lips. It's smooth like butter and dries almost in an instant. Like liquid lipstick BUT BETTER. I have tried Colourpop Ultra Matte in the shade Bumble and I like it but not quite enough for me to keep on using it. This one, on the other hand, is pure LOVE. It's very comfortable on the lips and not as drying. I wore this for 6 hours straight and it didn't budge. I did notice a slight fading only after I've finished eating dinner. Impressive! This lipstick moved right on top of the list. Everything else comes second.

Do you have a Colourpop favorite?

First Post of the Year – Makeup Finds + Favorites

Ahh, my first post of the year. Hello ladies, what's been keeping you busy? Find any more makeup to play with? I have a few fab finds I'd love to tell you about. I wish I've found out about them sooner. It would have saved me quite a bit of money if I've found out about them a long time ago but then you know how it is when you are just starting to get interested in makeup. You start with a few lip balms, a few pressed powder and maybe some clear mascara from Avon. You dab a bit here and there, admire yourself in front of the mirror but realizing you're really not quite there yet, you find yourself exploring and trying on some more. That's how it started for me. And now here I am, years later. I promised myself, I'm not going to buy any more lipstick. I'm not going to buy any more foundation. I'm not going to buy any more shiny stuff. Meh. Stop fooling yourself. Makeup is an addiction. There's no cure to it. It keeps US sane. You agree with me, don't you?

So here goes. First makeup find is Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in the shade 54 Beige. I have really oily skin. NO, scratch that! I am an oily mess of a human being so looking for the right foundation can actually be quite tricky. My go-to foundation for a long time now has been and still is, Ellana Loose Mineral Foundation in the shade Radiant. I love it and I use it everyday. But I heard so many good things about Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation that I just have to try it and so I did. The result? AMAZING.

I love the semi-matte finish. I love that it makes my face look so radiant and glowing and healthy. Alas, it's not for us lovely ladies with oily skin type. Too bad really. I was so thrilled with the result. It was so lightweight and I really love how it made my face glow. Sadly, it lasted only for two solid hours and then after that, I started looking like melted butter. Did I throw it away? Nope! I tried the foundation again and again and again. I tried it with different primers–to find out which one I should pair it with. Then I tried different setting powders–to find out which one helps with oil better. I need to find out if I can make this foundation work for me and I am glad I did.

Ellana Loose Mineral Foundation still is my top choice when it comes to foundation. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation is a close second. Third goes to Hard Candy Glamoflauge Mix-in Pigment Makeup Drops which is another one of my makeup finds this year. I have the shade Light 3 which to be honest is too light for me. I have to mix it with a darker shade foundation so I can use it.

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Mix-in Pigment Makeup Drops, based on the reviews I read from other beauty bloggers, is a dupe to Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops. I don't have it and I have never tried it but I can point you to a few detailed makeup reviews to help you decide whether you should buy it or not.
